//October-november 2026 //Writer, communicator y screenwriter

Carlos Cifuentes Jaramillo (Bogotá, 1998) is a Colombian writer, communicator, and screenwriter. He has written several short stories and two film scripts, which are currently under review by production companies. His short story "La esfera del inframundo" was included in the Antología Relata 2025, presented at the Bogotá Book Fair 2026.
He is currently writing two novels: "La esclava y el dédalo," a dark fantasy set during La Violencia, and "El bosque tornasol," set on the Colombian Caribbean coast between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. With this project, he won the IDARTES National and International Circulation Residency for Literary Creation.
With this grant, he will attend the Casa Taller El Boga to develop this work, which blends environmental, body, and cosmic horror to reinterpret the rise of paramilitary groups in the Caribbean. An admirer of García Márquez, Lovecraft, Borges, and Rulfo, he seeks new ways to explore the country's history.
